Troubleshooting
HOW MANY DO I ORDER? We recommend ordering at least 15% - 20% above your final guest count in case there are mistakes in printing or perhaps last minute additions to your guest list. LAYOUT & FONTS You are already a step ahead since Captured Hearts DIY pre - designed invitations come will all materials you need for a glamourous invitation! All you need now is to choose a layout and font that will enhance your invitation! Your word processing program has many fonts, but there is also a variety of fonts available both free font downloads (try dafont.com). Experiment with different fonts and font combinations to find a style that suits your taste or feel of your event. FONT SIZE Font size will determine how your text fills the space of your blank invitation. Use different font sizes using the larger font size to emphasize names, etc. ALIGNMENT This is another area where you can customize the look and uniqueness of your invitation. Think outside of the traditional “center alignment” and try left or right justified layouts or a combination of alignments. SPACING Spacing between lines is very important. Try to keep spacing balanced and accurate as much as possible. INK OPTIONS Your word processing program will have ink color options. Coordinate ink that will match the design of your color palette or elements of your invitation (ie: ribbon, buckle, brooch etc.) or event. PRINTER TROUBLESHOOTING PROBLEM: PRINTER NOT FEEDING THE PAPER Make sure your printer is able to feed regular printer paper. If you are having trouble feeding regular paper, then there may be a problem with the printer. Try feeding one card at a time instead of a stack of cards. Make sure the card is positioned correctly in the printer. Make sure the card is close enough to the printer wheels that it can grab the card. Try giving the card a gentle push to guide it through as the wheels grab the card. Try changing the paper quality in your Print Properties to a heavier weight. PROBLEM: TEXT IS CUT OFF Make sure your Word Processing document size matches your card size. Adjust the margins in your Word Processing document to allow your text to print in a different/larger area. Try adjusting the font size to reduce the print area. Try changing the paper size in the Print Properties section PROBLEM: QUALITY OF PRINT IS POOR For ink jet printers, check your ink cartridges and replace ink(s) as necessary. Adjust the print quality in the Print Properties - try using the highest quality setting. Draft quality settings may be faded or unclear). Make sure the ink colors you selected in your Word Processing program are appropriate for printing on the paper color. The darker the color of ink, the better. Remember if you are using metallic card stock that we recommend using a laser printer! |
